CONSERVE TODAY – THRIVE TOMORROW

HAPPY NEW YEAR
(Slightly Late), but never too late to
plan ahead.

According to scientific information, we should only be watering 2 days a month during DEC, JAN, FEB with deep soaking. Remember this is the rainy season where we should receive1″- 2″ of rain each month. Don’t worry, we have done this before! For several years, the irrigation manager and I have turned our water off completely during those 3 months in our own homes with no damage to plants.

DROUGHT PROOF

We were using drought-tolerant plants 45 years ago when I was in college studying horticulture. The drought-tolerant plants back then were Rephiolepis, Texas Privet, Phontinia, Xylosma, Pittosporum, etc. Does that sound familiar? It should because all of our older sites still have these plants. By the way, these plants are still being used, and they are doing well. Still growing vigorously with very little water needed.
